Water Resistant Inline Quick Disconnect
The Water Resistant Inline Quick Disconnect can be integrated in one of two manners. It is generally ordered as a headset cable quick disconnect affording the operator the ability to separate the headset from the PTT assembly. For instance, this configuration allows an operator to route and affix the cables of the PTT system to his LBE vest and leave them in place at all times while the headset frame can be disconnected and stored in a gear bag. When an operator needs to suit up, he can put on the LBE vest (with the cables routed and stored in cable channels/or trapped by Velcro tabs), don the headset and simply connect the two ends of the inline quick disconnect. The Water Resistant Inline Quick Disconnect can sometimes be integrated on the radio interface cable (below the chosen PTT assembly) rather than the headset cable. This option is dependent upon the type of radio interface cable/connector assembly available from the connector manufacturer. Some connector assemblies are available with coiled cable only. The Inline Quick Disconnect can only be integrated with straight radio interface cable -- not coiled. The entire system, when coupled, measures approximately 5" in length by 1/2" in diameter.
